The GWMR, or Global Wine Medal Rating, is a comprehensive assessment system that evaluates wines based on their performance in various international wine competitions. This rating provides valuable insight into the quality and consistency of wines, helping consumers identify the best options available in the market. Wines with higher GWMR ratings are typically those that have consistently received accolades and medals across multiple competitions, indicating superior quality and craftsmanship. By consulting the GWMR, wine enthusiasts can confidently select wines that have been recognized for their excellence by experts in the industry.

In the previous article we described the amount of data we collected and presented the overall Wine competitions landscape for 2020–2023. Now it’s time to see the results of this work and take a sneak peek of the best wines evaluated by wine competition juries worldwide.

Only one European wine has comparable results — again from Fautor (Moldova), having scored medals in 16 different countries on three continents: Europe, North America and Asia.

Moreover, very soon we will publish a similar article with the data for year 2023, emphasizing the best successes the wineries had recently.
